Default Will I be able to find groups?

So, I'm thinking of jumping into Guild Wars. I played a little a long while back...and i'll be starting from scratch. I was wondering though...back then I had trouble finding people to join with me in quests. Now that the game has been out so long, will I have an even harder time finding low-level people to quest with?

Your best bet would be to find a compatible guild. We've seen a number of "old timers" return after the Hall of Monuments info was released, plus have added at least two newbies since. They ask for help in Alliance chat and almost always someone is there for them.

Otherwise, I think you'll find many outposts sparsely populated unless it is the zaishen mission, a popular farming spot, or an elite area (underworld/temple of ages, etc).

More new players are coming in now then any time in the past 3 years, I'd say. You'll still have some trouble putting together full human groups for the low-level content, but you should at least be able to get some people in your party (and round out the rest with Henchies and Heroes) if you so desire.

Back when I played a lot still (2006, 2007) me and a buddy would Hench when it was just us playing. We ended up Henching the entire GW series, and it turned out good. So if you can't find people, you're not totally out of luck with this game.

If you can find friendly human players or a guild that you like, the better.

The sad truth is that GW is an old game. It's hard to find groups since everyone has already done everything.

Luckily, GW allows you to use AI henchmen and heroes instead of other players, so you can do the whole game without trouble without ever entering a group.

Well, except the elite areas, but those are, after all, endgame content - you're sure to find yourself a guild before that.

Due to the age of GW, most experienced players who are taking an alt through a campaign just use Guildmates and/or heroes and/or henchmen and don't look for a PuG (pick up group).
Due to the relatively large "area" of GW, and therefore, the large number of places to be, there aren't so many players in any one town, doing any particular quest/mission. People don't tend to wait too long to find a group before simply grabbing some H&H to go with.
So, bottom line is, a new or returning player should expect to do most of the game either "solo" with H&H, or with Guildmates. The days of GW(1) being a true MMO are long past.

Embark Beach is coming.

This may make pick up grouping easier, then again it may not.
